Email invitation to take the survey

We are planning to email our customers an invitation to take the survey available on our home page. The email will read something like this:

Text of Message: The Maricopa County Library District invites you to answer a brief survey about a new service we will soon be offering through our Web site. Librarians will be available through online chat to help you find answers to questions and provide guidance in online searching. Please help us create a service that best meets your needs by taking the survey available on our home page at: http://mcld.maricopa.gov. (Update: Direct links to the survey are available at (English) http://libcat.maricopa.gov/virtualref and (Spanish) http://libcat.maricopa.gov/virtualrefspan.

As I think I mentioned earlier we will continue to keep the survey up until the end of the grant period but we have to take the survey down from our home page at the end of February since we will be posting another one (customer satisfaction survey) in March.

I have been taking a mental note of the survey results before any new solicitations we are putting forth. The average is running 60% Yes, they would use the service to 40% they would not. The odd part is that the majority of the 40% who have said they would not use the service go on to complete the questionnaire!
